"Let the little children come to me, and stop keeping them away, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like these."

~Matthew 19:14

Children’s ministries help set the foundations of faith that are built on the gospel and could be the first place a child has an encounter with Jesus Christ! We, as those who love Jesus and love our children, take this fact very seriously. Children’s Ministries can be guilty of teaching “law.”  Children are concrete thinkers and teaching the do’s and don’ts is sometimes easier than trying to teach something as abstract as grace. While we do teach the moral side of Christianity (the do’s and don’ts), we also are careful to explain why we live that way: Because of Jesus. And out of gratitude for God’s grace. More importantly, our children need to see the gospel lived out in our lives We also believe that the most important influence in shaping young people’s religious lives should be the religious life modeled and taught to them by their parents.” 1  As a result, we keep parents involved in our ministries by keeping them informed, and provide opportunities for them to interact with their children in a spiritual way. In all our  Children’s  Ministry programs we send home documents or handouts for the parents to use to continue on the training received in the church.

Special programs:

Vacation Bible School –  a five day program held in the evening in early July.

Children’s Choirs – assembled a few times a year, usually for Christmas & Easter seasons.

Quarterly special events – these have included events such as camping trips, camp-ins, fishing trips, bowling and others.

Our Awana program is on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:15 and runs from September through June for Preschool through 6th grade. The program is led by our Children's Ministry Director, Eldred Hughes, as well as other dedicated Children's Ministry Volunteers from Cornerstone Church of Littlerock.

Stronghold Youth Ministries aims for the development and multiplication of mature followers of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to move student believers from initial faith to firm faith through the equipping of God’s Word so that they might live in God’s world in a way that demonstrates the supremacy of Christ in all things. As a result, an emphasis is placed upon cultivating the student’s identity in Christ, specifically achieved through reproductive discipleship. In addition, we hope to nurture a love for the church and community. Together with the youth staff, Zack is the leader of this ministry.

Women's Bible Study

The Women’s Ministry at Cornerstone Church of Littlerock exists to encourage women to know the Lord Jesus Christ personally and to grow in the knowledge of Him through actively participating in reading God’s word, praying and fellowshipping with other believers.

We hope to have the opportunity to love upon women in the Littlerock area and invite them to the many ministry opportunities available.  Our Bible Studies are designed to encourage each of us to be in God’s Word daily, feeding on his truth and meeting with other women each week to share what God is doing in our lives and encourage one another in our growing experience.  Our prayer times together have revealed to us God’s continued faithfulness as we see God answer prayers in amazing ways amongst us.  Our fellowship time is designed to make new gals feel comfortable and loved as we spend time letting God shine through us and to give us time to bond as sisters who can be available to each other in those times of need.  Our two teams a year are an opportunity to reach out to our community and invite ladies to a special local Christian event.  Our two retreats a year are designed to encourage and challenge us to know the Lord better and respond to his love in obedience and our Girls Night Out events are to get to know each other even better and develop relationships with each other that go beyond the scope of the church.

“It is my desire that all women can find some or all of these events as a place that they will feel welcome and loved and grow in the Lord.”
Val Mercy-Director of Women’s Ministry

Our Purpose

Our Purpose: Cornerstone Church of Littlerock exists to communicate the life-changing message of the risen Jesus Christ and to help those who believe to love God and love people, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

On Easter Sunday 2003 Cornerstone Church of Littlerock began it’s mission to serve the people in Littlerock, East Palmdale, Pearblossom, Lake LA, Juniper Hills, Sun Valley and other southeast regions of the Antelope Valley. Our purpose is to Love God and Love People. As we love God we desire to worship him, study his Word, the Bible, and to live our lives to honor him. As we love people we have a saying that we don’t expect to clean the fish before we catch them. In other words, come to Cornerstone just as you are and ask God to make you as he wants you to be.

Cornerstone Church of Littlerock is a Sister Church of Grace Chapel Lancaster.

What We Believe

WE BELIEVE in one God—Creator of all, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three persons as a perfect Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(Gen. 1; Deut. 6:4, 32:4; Ps. 147:5;  Is. 46:9; Matt. 28:19; Eph. 4:4-6)

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven where, at the right hand of God, He is our High Priest and Advocate. He is eternal and through Him all things have their existence. He will be returning for His church.

(Luke 2:6-7, 40; Gal. 4:4; Phil. 2:5-7; Jn. 1:1-3, 14, 5:18, 10:30, 20:28; 1 Cor. 15; 1 Pet. 2:24; 1 Jn. 4:10; Acts 1:8-11; 1 Thess. 4:14-5:2; Matt. 24:36)

WE BELIEVE that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Christ, convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, gift, and empower the believer for Godly living and service.

(2 Cor. 1:21-22; Jn. 14-16; Eph. 5:18)

WE BELIEVE that at the moment of salvation the believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the only inspired Word of God, without error in the original, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the final authority for all Christian faith and life. As such, it should be taught thoroughly and accurately in all areas of ministry.

(1 Cor. 15:3-4; Rom. 15:4; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21; Ps. 19:7-10; Acts 2:42; Ps. 119:1-20; Heb. 4:12)

WE BELIEVE that man, created in the image of God, fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through the belief in the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection can salvation be obtained. Only those who receive Christ as Lord, are born of the Holy Spirit and are the children of God.

(Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3; Rom 3:23, 6:23, 10:9; 1 Pet. 1:18-20; 1 Cor. 15:21-22;  Jn. 1:12-13; Col. 1:21-22)

WE BELIEVE that the true Church is composed of all who have been regenerated by saving faith in Christ and are united as the members of His body, of which He is the head.

(Col.1:18-23; Heb. 10:24-25; Acts 2:21, 42-47)

WE BELIEVE that the Lord’s Supper and believers water baptism are ordinances given by Christ to be observed by the Church. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.

(Mk. 16:16; Rom. 6:3-5; Eph. 2:8-9; Matt. 3:11; Acts 2:38; 1 Pet. 3:21; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Cor. 11:20-34, 12:13)

WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of the dead—of the believer to eternal joy with the Lord and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting punishment.

(1 Cor. 15:20-26, 50-53; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Jn. 5:24-29; Matt. 25:45-46; Rev. 1:7, 19:11,17, 20:1-14)
